Therapist Philosophy
I am a licensed mental health counselor, art therapist and clinical supervisor in the Everett Washington area, and I am here to walk with those in need through tough times.
My entire career has centered around trauma informed care with diverse populations including Native Americans and those living within and around their historical lands in a hybridized urban/rural setting. I have more than eleven years of experience supporting people who have a myriad of life challenges from historical and family trauma, systemic racism, betrayal trauma, relationship issues, victimization of all forms at all life stages, addiction, gender and sexuality issues, to spiritual and cultural connection. My specialty areas are Grief and Loss, Developmental Disabilities, Trauma, and Gender and Sexuality exploration and resolution.
I practice Rogerian, person-centered, humanistic, transpersonal, existential, spiritual therapeutic connections and interventions with individuals, couples and families, and adolescents. I am a registered Art Therapist, have basic training in EMDR and use DBT and other skills with the people I serve. I am also a Reiki Master and can navigate issues of spiritual importance from a variety of perspectives. I do not specifically provide "Christian Counseling," however your spiritual walk is yours alone and I am sensitive to all spiritual needs.
I am licensed in the state of WA (LH60506516) and am also a clinical supervisor for two clinics within a Native American community.
I am an outside-the-box clinician who uses intuitive transpersonal connection with my clients to provide a safe, affirming and often fun therapeutic experience while buckling down for hard emotional and spiritual work in a successful way. In that, I am a "homework" therapist and believe the "work" doesn't stop when the session ends.
My goal is to facilitate "Therapy" in my unique, oft described "laid back style," that feels like working through issues with a wise friend over coffee who happens to be well versed in counseling techniques.
***With regard to different-abled individuals and Autism: As an Autistic person, I do not and will not endorse or practice behavioral modification. You are amazing! If you want to work with me, I will make sure you know how gifted and perfect you are, as you are, and hopefully teach you some stress/distress tolerance skills and ways in which you can use your magic to your highest good. You’re not “the problem.” They are.
I want to see you thrive.
